I bought one of these recently as I often need to desolder very small electronic boards. Given the size of the tool, I was expecting it to have a rotary motor to create the suction. What it actually has is an electromagnet that activates a push rod, just like a manual solder sucker. This means that there is a significant recoil when you operate the button. While this way of generating the suction works well, if the circuit board is too hot, the recoil will make the tool move and quite possibly damage the circuit board. So, I'm still looking for something with a suction mechanism that is safe to use on delicate boards.
